tony, tone, tone! come on, we all have nicknames for our companion animals, why not our zoo friends? tony is a big ( take a look at the size of his head and legs!) gorgeous siberian boy tiger. he was born on 3.21.92 at the reid park zoo in tucson along with his sister, emily. they came to the sfzoo together in 6.93. sadly he has lost both his companions, his sister (2004) passed and tatiana (2007) when she tried to defend herself, him, and their home. thankfully he has found some affection in padang. when i saw that window between them open for the first time i almost cried. i just wish they connected more, as often you see them teasing each other with vocals or missing one another. expand the last photo for a rare moment! most often i see padang who is more consistent, passing by the window, while tony or george is sleeping below the it, out of sight.

What can you say about the most handsome Big Head Tony Tone Tone there is? Tony is adorable, loveable and precious. He's a gorgeous big boy and takes his job of being Padang's sweetie very seriously....well, sometimes...other times it's a cute little tease thing and it's precious. He is a very amazing big cat. Who wouldnt love Tony? He's special !!!
ReplyDeleteIncredible Siberian!!! Ya gotta love Mr.Tony... It's awesome watching him sleep in the sun and then...unbelievable when you are in the Lion House and he walks in...everyone is amazed at his size...and his face...such sweetness...
ReplyDeletei think tony is just a big softy! last week when a keeper was trying to get him to come in so leanne could go out, everytime he tried to come thru the door, leanne would give him greif and vocalize nasty at him. poor tony kept backing up and looked afraid. finally he popped his head in, responded and backed back out lol! it was so funny. i've never heard him do the growl. it was like ok, but i don't think its fair that i have to play this game too! he's a doll.
ReplyDeleteMr Tony....what can I say? You were adorable again yesterday. Sweetness and Tigers are two words that probably arent heard much together...but with Tony...yep those words together ring true. He's a sweetheart and has such gentle eyes. It always makes my day to see Mr.Tony Tone Tone.
